Sounds of Slave

The Sounds Of SLAVE(tm) is a cover band for the legendary funk band SLAVE.

Sounds of SLAVE members are all college music majors with a diverse group of talent. They have performed at many venues across America, and locally. They have performed at venues such as The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana, The Hard Rock Casino in Gary, Indiana, Arcada Theater, Washington Park Festival of Life, The Yellow Box, and many others.

Slave was an American Ohio-based funk band popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Trumpeter and multi-instrumentalist Steve Washington and Trombonist Floyd Miller formed the group in Dayton, Ohio in 1975 and were joined by percussionist Steve Arrington in 1978.

Nominated Chicago’s top show band in 2022 by the Chicago Music Awards - Sounds of SLAVE will give you the look and feel of one of America’s top funk bands of all time.
